Artist Bio

As an artist by nature, with a background in fashion, brand development and graphic design, artist Orlando Xavier Colon is drawn too many forms of artistic expression and has had the pleasure of taking his talents through various avenues. As self taught baker and decorator, he has learned how to hone his creativity and cultivate his craft as a cake designer. Incorporating various artistic abilities into the pastry field and turning individuals visions into edible masterpieces has been the most rewarding part of the process.

Over 15 years ago, he was presented with the extraordinary opportunity of marrying his artistic abilities with the culinary world in the form of fondant-style cakes. This happy accident suddenly turned into a successful business and A Plus Cakes was born. Owning and operating his own business took countless hours of dedication, forward thinking and impeccable attention to detail. It was through these years that he has learned how to be a more driven and self reliant individual and continuing to physically manifest the artistic ideas of multiple clients into delicious creations.
